MAMMENN
When I see your light shine, I know I’m home.
If you’re waiting all your life, you will never go.

A Homecoming
Mammenn f. -où (breton): origin, root.
Named as a wink to my Breton origin, this project brings together my love for running and biking outdoors and my desire to (re)discover my home country, France.
From June to September, I plan to cover more than 6’000 human-powered kilometres to revisit places that are close to my heart and discover parts of France that I don’t know yet.
6'000 kilometres
On the bike and on foot.
80'000 meters ascent
9 times Mount Everest.
4 months
Around France.
135 french croissants
Or pains au chocolat…
The Map
6’000 kms around France
I will cycle the main route, following several “véloroutes” around France. In order get to know and enjoy some places better, I’m bringing my trail runners to run or hike some emblematic spots of the regions I’m traversing.

I’m making use of a quiet afternoon under the shade to show you, with a bit of delay, the map of the 2nd chapter.
4 days in between the hills of the Jura and green lanes along the Doubs
That’s it! It’s the big day, the departure of Mammenn: 4 months biking and running around France. Months of planning coming to completion. It’s a long weekend, so Nevin can come with me for the first 4 days. After only 1 kilometer, we stop so I can distribute the weight differently. We are not off to a good start…
